KAJANG, May 14 Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican has urged all quarters not to speculate on the death of national archer Haziq Kamaruddin today, saying people should be sensitive to the feelings of his family.
The Youth and Sports Minister said it was irresponsible of certain quarters to speculate on the 27-year-old recurve archer’s passing when he had contributed so much to the country.
National archer Haziq Kamaruddin died of complications arising from clogged heart blood vessels due to coronary artery atherosclerosis yesterday, said the Ministry of Health (MoH). Forensic medical services head Datuk Dr Zahari Noor said so far there was no evidence to show that the 27-year-old Olympian’s death was linked to Covid-19 vaccination.

JASIN, May 15 National archer Haziq Kamaruddin, who died yesterday, was laid to rest at the Taman Koperasi Serkam Darat Muslim cemetery in Merlimau early today.
Prayers were held at Surau Al-Taqwa in accordance with the standard operating procedures set after the remains arrived from Kajang Hospital at about 12.45 am.
Also present at the funeral was National Sports Council director-general Datuk Ahmad Shapawi Ismail.
