Publix Moves Scheduling for Moderna Vaccine to Fridays
Publix announced it will move scheduling for Moderna s COVID-19 vaccine to Fridays, beginning April 9.
The online reservation system will open every Friday at 7 a.m. for Moderna COVID‑19 vaccinations appointments in Florida for the following week.
The Moderna vaccine is authorized for only those 18 years and older.
Customers with appointments for their second dose of the Moderna vaccine are not impacted by any changes in scheduling opportunities and should arrive at the COVID-19 vaccine check-in area at their scheduled date and time.

More governors publicly vaccinated, but DeSantis kept mum

Gov. Ron DeSantis has received a single-dose coronavirus vaccine, his office confirmed Wednesday. He did so out of the public eye even as governors elsewhere across the political spectrum have been vaccinated publicly to reassure Americans that the shots are safe.
A spokesperson for the Republican governor declined to provide details, including when exactly the Republican governor received the dose. But it was later disclosed that the governor last week received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine requiring only a single dose.
The spokesperson, Meredith Beatrice, acknowledged the governor’s vaccination during an interview. The disclosure came after a DeSantis news conference at the Capitol assailing the TV news program “60 Minutes” for a story airing Sunday that suggested a “pay-to-play” vaccine distribution deal with a supermarket chain that donated to the governor’s
DeSantis had recently said he would be vaccinated soon but no announcement was made by his office when he received it and no journalists were on hand. Even some of his top lieutenants said they were unaware the governor had been vaccinated as they continued to urge Floridians to get inoculated against a virus that has killed nearly 34,000 people statewide. More than 2 million people in Florida have been infected.
Many governors of both parties have drawn public attention to their vaccinations, hoping that will help convince more people to get the shot allowing their states and the country to more quickly achieve herd immunity, even if it is not known what percentage of the population needs to be vaccinated to stop the spread of the virus.

New emails from the camp of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) handed to Fox News underline the shady way the CBS
60 Minutes team operated before their Sunday night hatchet job suggesting (without actual connecting evidence) that DeSantis engaged in a pay to play scheme with the Publix supermarket chain on vaccine distribution.
On March 31, the Wednesday before the show,
60 Minutes associate producer Emily Gordon sent a list of questions to DeSantis staffer Meredith Beatrice with a deadline set for Thursday at 5 p.m. Beatrice asked for more time. The next morning, the segment s top producer Oriana Zill de Granados confirmed to Beatrice that the report on DeSantis would air on Sunday and wrote: Please send us your responses when you are able.
