MERIDEN â Local officials hailed the possibility that current state Education Commissioner and city native Miguel A. Cardona is among the candidates who could become the countryâs next education secretary.Â
Cardona was appointed to his current post in 2019 after having served as an assistant superintendent in Meriden. Â
