WOLCOTT, Conn. Wolcott police are looking for suspects after they said a car was taken from a gas station late Sunday night with a child still inside.
Police were called to the Cumberland Farms on Meriden Road around 11:30 p.m. on the report of a stolen vehicle with a 5-year-old child inside.
When they arrived along with officers from the Waterbury Police Department, they learned that an 11-year-old had also been in the vehicle but had jumped out just before the vehicle drove off.

WOLCOTT – Police say two children, who were inside a car that was stolen from a convenience store late Sunday, are safe.
At about 11:30 p.m., police say a blue Kia with several people inside pulled into the parking lot at Cumberland Farms, 1655 Meriden Road, next to a Kia Sportage, which was parked and had a 5-year-old girl and an 11-year-boy inside.
Police said the keys were left in the vehicle, which was running.
A person in the blue Kia entered the driver’s seat of the Kia Sportage, backed up and struck another parked car, according to police. The 11-year-old managed to jump out before the both Kias fled the scene, turning right onto Meriden Road toward Waterbury.
Two children are safe after the vehicle they were in was stolen in Wolcott on Sunday night and police are continuing to search for whoever is responsible. Someone from the Kia got out, got into the victim s car, backed up and while trying to flee, hit another parked car, they added.
