Microsoft releases Windows 10 Build 21337 with big changes to Virtual Desktops and a new Auto HDR preview
Microsoft rolls out new Windows 10 builds to Insiders in the Dev Channel on a weekly basis. Some weeks there isn’t much in the way of new features or functionality, and other weeks we get a build packed with updates.
Build 21337 is one of those which has a lot to offer, such as major changes to Virtual Desktops, an Auto HDR preview for gaming, tweaks to File Explorer’s layout, and more.
The headline change in this new build is the ability to reorder and customize Virtual Desktops, something Microsoft says users have been asking for, for some time.

Microsoft is planning to automatically add HDR support to more than 1,000 PC games. The software maker is now testing a new Auto HDR feature on Windows 10, which works just like it does on the latest Xbox Series S and X consoles. Enabling Auto HDR will add high dynamic range (HDR) to a large number of DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 games, as long as you have a compatible HDR monitor.
“While some game studios develop for HDR gaming PCs by mastering their game natively for HDR, Auto HDR for PC will take DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 SDR-only games and intelligently expand the color / brightness range up to HDR,” says Hannah Fisher, a DirectX program manager at Microsoft. “It’s a seamless platform feature that will give you an amazing new gaming experience that takes full advantage of your HDR monitor’s capabilities.”

Insiders get a new Preview Build today finally receiving some new features and improvements. Microsoft has today released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21337 (RS PRERELEASE) to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. Features being tested are likely to end up with Windows 10 21H2, but the company no longer ties these builds with specific versions of the operating system.

Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 Insider Preview build for testers in the Dev channel. The new OS build is 21337, and it includes several notable changes, including a new way to reorder and customize virtual desktops.
Windows 10 makes a big deal out of virtual desktops, as this feature allows users to organize and manage their work in a much more effective way.
Starting with this new build, users can order and customize the backgrounds for each virtual desktop, a feature that has long been among the top requests in the Feedback Hub.

As per most weeks, Microsoft is back with a new Windows 10 insider preview build for those in the Dev Channel to download and start testing. Today s build is 21337, and is packing a handful of notable new features and changes that focus on enhancing the File Explorer and Virtual Desktop features.
With this build, Microsoft is introducing the ability to reorder Virtual Desktops inside of Task View. Up until now, that wasn t possibe. You can also now change the wallpaper of specific virtual desktops, which is a nice way to differentiate between different ones if you re a heavy Virtual Desktop user.
