Jonesborough - Anna “Ann” Rice, 69, of Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021, at her residence. Ann had lived in in Jonesborough since 1990. She was the daughter of Lilla Walsh and the late Walter Lee Sullivan. Ann enjoyed reading romance novels and shopping. She had a soft spot for dogs. Ann was a dog’s best friend. Ann enjoyed being with her friends at the Wellness Center three days a week. In addition to her father, Ann was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Rice; brother, John Walsh; step father, Bernard Elmer Walsh. Survivors include her loving husband of forty-nine years, Jim Rice.

Claud Posts New Track Guard Down Ahead Of Super Monster Release Wednesday, 10 February 2021 Claud has unveiled a new single, Guard Down. Following Cuff Your Jeans, the synth-pop track serves as the latest taster of the Brooklyn artist s imminent debut album, Super Monster , due out on Friday (February 12) through Saddest Factory, Phoebe Bridgers label imprint with Dead Oceans. Other previously released cuts off the 13-track record include Soft Spot and Gold.  Speaking about the new song, which was co-penned with Cameron Hale and Mary Weitz, Claud said: I have the hardest time opening up and letting my guard down. When I wrote this song, I had just found out somebody I had feelings for started seeing someone else and my immediate emotional response was to convince myself I didn’t care, even though I really did. Claud keeps great company. Their debut LP Super Monster is the first release from Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory imprint, and features collaborations from dream pop princess Clairo (the pair are close friends), Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Jake Portrait, and singer-songwriter Nick Hakim, among others. It was recorded in the fabled Electric Lady Studios, and named after an unreleased Daniel Johnston painting which the studio manager showed them after seeing its title, ‘Claud & The Super Monster’. Yet despite the rather rarefied environment in which it was made, the best thing about Super Monster is how relatable it is. At just 21, Claud’s ability to distill the emotional tumult of young adulthood into song is reminiscent of Lorde, Frankie Cosmos, or Bridgers herself – albeit in a much more upbeat format.
