Facing mounting pressure, Delta Air Lines’ chief executive came out forcefully against Georgia’s newly enacted elections bill Wednesday, calling it “unacceptable” a stark change from his initial statement praising aspects of the legislation.
“After having time to now fully understand all that is in the bill, coupled with discussions with leaders and employees in the Black community, it’s evident that the bill includes provisions that will make it harder for many underrepresented voters, particularly Black voters, to exercise their constitutional right to elect their representatives. That is wrong,” CEO Ed Bastian said in a memo sent to all Delta employees worldwide.

Human rights groups calling on Georgia-based corporations to denounce election reforms
Protesters held a die-in outside the World of Coca-Cola Monday and demanded the corporation stop donations to lawmakers that supported recent election legislation.
ATLANTA - Activists are calling for boycotts of Georgia companies that hesitated to challenge sweeping election reform signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp on March 25.
The new law s critics said it is problematic because its restrictions inordinately affect minority voters. The law s supporters argue it institutes some common sense election security measures.
ViacomCBS was the first to release a statement opposing the law: "We unequivocally believe in the importance of all Americans having an equal right to vote."
