More Than 100 Music and Entertainment Venues in MI Receive Grants

The live music industry and entertainment venues are one of the industries to take a giant hit  from the pandemic, and any help to keep them running is necessary. Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced on Wednesday that over 100 live music and entertainment venues across the state have received a $3.4 million grant. The grant came through the Michigan Stages Survival Grant Program which was incepted to help music venues  that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 101 venues in 30 Michigan counties were eligible for the grant and each were awarded up to $40,000 to help cover payroll, rent, mortgage, any other costs to help the venues reopen. A full list of the venues that received the grant can be seen here. The following 15 are located in West Michigan:

MEDC introduces new grant program for small businesses For places adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic FacebookTwitterEmail The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (Courtesy Photo) MICHIGAN The Michigan Strategic Fund approved two new grant programs to help meet the needs of small businesses and live entertainment venues impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The two programs, the Michigan Small Business Survival Grants and Michigan Stages Survival Grants, have a total of $58.5 million in relief funding available. The Small Business Survival Grant Program will provide $55 million to small businesses with grants worth up to $20,000 each for businesses that are fully closed and up to $15,000 for businesses that have been partially closed or otherwise are open and can demonstrate an impact from the pandemic.
