Two teens involved in the 2019 gunshot death of TaJuan Williams in Mexico have been sentenced to prison.
Demetric Dorsey, 17, received 10 years for one count of first degree involuntary manslaughter and 15 years for one count of armed criminal action. First Judicial Circuit judge Russell Steele determined that the two sentences will run concurrently.
Trebion Dorsey, also 17, received five years for his role in the 27-year-old Mexico resident’s death. The judge ruled that he is eligible to take part in the state’s Shock Incarceration Program. If he completes the 120-day commitment, he could be released on probation.

For Brandon Davis, responding to a disturbance proved to be a bad idea.
The 29-year-old Mexico resident was arrested and jailed, facing charges of assault and unlawful use of a weapon following an incident that took place on Thursday, Dec. 17.
Officers from the Mexico Public Safety Department had responded to reports of a disturbance in the 1500 block of N. Washington and begin an investigation.
Authorities have not released the nature or cause of the disturbance. But according to MPSD officers, while it was going on, Davis appeared in the street with a gun.

Mexico Public Safety Department responded Thursday afternoon to the 1500 block of N Washington in reference to a neighborhood disturbance.
Officials report that after officers arrived they found Brandon Davis, 29, in the roadway with a gun threatening others.
Officials say Davis was arrested on scene and processed.
Davis is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and 4th-degree assault.
Officials report there were no injuries from the incident.

A Warren County judge overseeing a manslaughter case from Audrain County has sentenced the suspect to 10 years in prison.
Dekhise E. Dorsey, 19, of Mexico, was sentenced last week after pleading guilty Sept. 9 to first-degree involuntary manslaughter. Dorsey was charged in the February 2019 shooting death of Ta’Juan Williams, 27, in Mexico. The case was transferred to Warren County Circuit Court in June 2019.
Associate Judge Michael Wright oversaw Dorsey’s case after it was moved to Warren County. He delivered the sentence on Dec. 11. Dorsey will receive credit for the nearly two years he’s already spent in jail.

On Sunday afternoon, Mexico Public Safety Department responded to a disturbance in the 1600 block of north Clark St. after a man is hit by a vehicle.
According to a release by Mexico Public Safety, this was an ongoing domestic dispute.
According to the probable cause statement, Brent Sampson got into an argument with someone and left the scene of the dispute with his daughters in the car. According to court records, Sampson then allegedly hit a person that had just shown up as Sampson was leaving.
