New Mexico Museum Of Natural History & Science Hatches ‘Tiny Titans: Dinosaur Eggs And Babies’ Online Exhibition

ALBUQUERQUE A new online exhibit has emerged from a popular installation currently on view at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (NMMNHS).
Visitors to the museum’s website can now take a virtual tour of the in-person exhibition “Tiny Titans: Dinosaur Eggs and Babies”, which boasts New Mexico’s young dinosaurs from the late Cretaceous period, such as the Bisti Beast, Pentaceratops, and Parasaurolophus, includes unique fossils, and addresses how dinosaurs gave birth and raised their young.
“Tiny Titans: Dinosaur Eggs and Babies” features fossils from the museum’s own collections as well as illustrations and sculptures created by many well-known forensic artists.

The History and Literary Arts department at the National Hispanic Cultural Center presents the latest online lecture in the series Tertulia Histórica Albuquerque “From Sea To Sand: Holy Week Traditions of Spain, New Mexico and the Philippines” via Zoom on March 20. The presentation will discuss the various traditions of Semana Santa (Holy Week), beginning with their origins in Spain and how they then spread around the world. The lecture will concentrate specifically on two former Spanish colonies – the northernmost frontier of Nueva España, New Mexico, and the Philippines. Register for this free event here.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (NMMNHS) will safely reopen to the public today, March 17, following a temporary closure last month due to positive COVID-19 cases reported by staff members.
Museum hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, closed Monday and Tuesday, and visitation will be limited to 75 people at any one time.
Health and safety is the highest priority for NMMNHS, and the museum has taken every necessary precaution during the closure to prevent, manage, and mitigate the possibility of the virus spreading beyond the facility.
