If you re someone who is usually guilty of over-indulging at Christmas time, only to then deprive yourself come the end of January you re not alone.
But this year dietitian Geraldine Georgeou suggests you should look to your gut microbiome instead for healthy skin and a trim waistline. Reprogramming your own microbiome by eating more fibre and probiotics, along with healthy carbs like sourdough bread, monosaturated fats like avocado and extra Virgin olive oil, lean meats and plant-based proteins are part of the nutrition prescription to ease irritating and allergic skin conditions, she told Mecca.
