Periods of light to moderate snow will be moving through the area today. Highest snowfalls will land west, south, and southeast of Duluth. From Walker through the Brainerd Lakes Area to Hinckley and up toward Ashland will likely see the higher amounts of snow in our region. Some of these spots will have the possibility of picking up a half foot of fresh snow. Winds will be breezy today making for some blowing and drifting snow. A few areas may have reduced visibility as well. Travel will improve on Saturday as the snow will have come to an end and winds will be much lighter. Weekend temps will warm into the 20s with cloudy to mostly cloudy sky.
