The Hybrid Hiring Era: New research shows how important it is to get the balance right between technology and the human touch
New research into the job-seeking landscape in 2021 has revealed how, as hiring was digitised across all organisations in the UK due to the pandemic, the candidate experience has changed for the better.
Two-thirds of respondents (64%) believe video interviews have had a positive impact on the interview and hiring experience and two fifths (41%) think that companies who use automation in the recruitment process are making getting a job easier. Nearly half (48%) say video interviews and applications make them feel more confident and that they can present a better version of themselves.

Finance Personnel Updates May 7, 2021
At the end of February, Rusty Thomas, Purchasing Manager, retired from the University after 30 years of service. Rusty will be missed but he has a full life waiting for him outside of Ohio University. We wish him all the best!
Effective March 5, Rachel Patrick, Director of Payments & Capital Spending, left the University to pursue another employment opportunity. We would like to thank Rachel for her years of service to the University and wish her well on her new adventure.
Polly Mitchell was hired as the new Accounts Payable Manager and started in that role on March 16. In this role, Polly will oversee Accounts Payable functions including invoicing and payments; Supplier Management; and will continue to manage Finance Customer Care. Congratulations, Polly!

Financial and Operating Highlights:
Net earnings were $161 million, or $1.20 per diluted share
Sale of reclaimed quarry produced net proceeds of $182 million and pretax gain of $115 million ($85 million after tax, or $0.64 per diluted share)
First quarter Adjusted EBITDA was $244 million (excluding gain on land sale), a year-over-year increase of 22 percent
