Israeli researchers developed the first method of its kind to easily monitor the effect of anti-psychotic drugs used to treat schizophrenia.

Researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) have developed a novel method for instantly and accurately monitoring blood levels of the anti-psychotic drug, clozapine, using a blood drop from a finger prick.
The method, developed by Dr. Hadar Ben-Yoav, Department of Biomedical Engineering and Ilse Katz Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology, BGU, is based on an electrochemical microsensor which enables, for the first time, clozapine detection in one drop of finger-pricked whole blood samples of schizophrenia patients without using any pretreatment steps.

Leaders from around the world continued to contact Israel to congratulate it on its successful campaign to vaccinate its population against COVID-19 and to seek advice on combatting the virus.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Monday with Colombian President Ivan Duque and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, who congratulated him on the successful vaccination campaign in Israel.
Netanyahu and Duque discussed “advancing bilateral cooperation in the fight against the Coronavirus,” the Prime Minister’s Office stated.

The test examined how vision-based navigation technologies can help drone operators address the increasing threat of GPS signal disruption.

A first of its kind test of civil drone flights in GPS denied environments was successfully conducted this week in Israel in a special test zone in Yeruham in the south, where safe navigation solutions for drone flight Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS) were presented.
The test is part of NAAMA, the Israeli drone delivery pilot program operated by Israel’s Ministry of Transport, Ayalon Highways, the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel, and the Israel Innovation Authority, for testing and demonstrating drone technologies in managed airspace (UTM).
