Forum Editorial: Moorhead misses Mayor Judd, Minnesota welcomes Judge Judd
Johnathan Judd made history by being elected as Moorhead s first black mayor. His time at City Hall was marked by some major achievements, including receiving funding for an important railroad underpass and drafting a new downtown redevelopment plan.

Johnathan Judd hadn’t considered running for mayor of Moorhead until his predecessor, Del Rae Williams, encouraged him.
That nudge was rewarded when voters elected Judd mayor in 2018. His term would have expired in 2022, but Judd was recently appointed to serve as a judge on Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District, which extends from Mille Lacs in east-central Minnesota to Moorhead.

He has also managed to scoop several awards, including one for Best Young Actor. As he spent a lot of his time on set, Aston was privately tutored. However, once filming was finished he was able to return to Haslingden High School.

MOORHEAD If I wasn’t watching the inauguration live and instead looked at my Facebook feed later to see what happened on Wednesday, Jan. 20, I would have thought the news of the day was that Amanda Gorman inspired America with a poem she read to the nation.
