If you’ve encountered any of James Bond’s adventures over the years, you’re already familiar with the basics: a license to kill, a car full of gadgets and a penchant for martinis. But let’s not forget some of the other elements of the James Bond mythos, like the Vietnam War-era origin story or the young relative getting into international misadventures of his own.
Right about here, your mind is probably doing a perfect needle-scratch, and that’s understandable. James Bond’s origin story was never filmed, and the adventures of, er, James Bond, Jr., aired on a short-lived animated series. But they’re only the tip of the iceberg or, if you prefer, the villain’s base disguised as an iceberg when it comes to James Bond’s less famous adventures.
The police operation for the 43
rd annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade has concluded.
A high-visibility operation was launched across the operation footprint which included Moore Park, Oxford Street, Hyde Park and public transport routes to and from the area.
Due to COVID-19, the traditional Mardi Gras parade was replaced by a ticketed, COVID-safe event within the Sydney Cricket Stadium (SCG) at Moore Park today (Saturday 6 March 2021). This ensured COVID-safe protocols could be adhered to, including contact tracing and social distancing.
The focus of the police operation was to monitor for compliance with current Public Health Orders and the safety of all participants and spectators. This involved general duties officers, assisted by specialist units, including the Public Order and Riot Squad, Operations Support Group, Dog and Mounted Unit, PolAir, Licensing Police, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and Police Transport Command.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported more than 900 new COVID-19 cases in the state Friday, including 22 in Norman.
Fridayâs new case report brings Normanâs cumulative case toll to 13,323. The state has reported 12,752 recoveries in Norman.
Normanâs death toll stands at 139. The state anticipates updating local death numbers each Tuesday, according to the health department.
Normanâs seven-day new case average is at about 12 cases. Numbers from Norman Regional Hospital Systems Monday showed a slight uptick in local COVID hospitalizations over the last reporting period in February, but a slight decrease in ICU patients.
