The world-renowned English Symphony Orchestra is planning a series of concerts at at a 1,500-acre Herefordshire venue to mark a new partnership. Crumplebury, with its fine dining restaurant Green Cow Kitchens, 11 bedrooms and events spaces, will mark the collaboration with an exciting programme of concerts starting this autumn on the Whitbourne Estate, near Bromyard. Founded in 1976, the English Symphony Orchestra (ESO) has recorded many of Elgar’s compositions to critical acclaim. Along with masterpieces by world-famous classical composers, it now also champions groundbreaking British composers from under-represented ethnic and gender groups. Andrew Farquharson joined the orchestra as chief executive last August from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Elgar’s music resonates all over the Malverns as Fiona Reynolds revels in a walk to the Worcestershire Beacon.
With Elgar’s
Serenade for Strings soaring through my headphones, my heart throbbing with emotion and effort, I climb the steep approach to the Worcestershire Beacon. It’s the highest point of the Malvern Hills and it’s blowing a gale. It’s been a gloomy, chilly morning, but suddenly there’s blue sky against the trig point and my black lab Ruskin (a puppy no longer) bounds to the top and poses.
The exclusive menu will feature Tom Kerridge’s Smoked Applewood Cheeseburger with dill pickles and red cabbage slaw, as well as Tom’s delicious Vegan Chipotle Chilli with steamed rice, guacamole, sour ‘cream’ and lime.
Chef Atul Kochhar is one of the five chefs creating the menu for The Alfresco Diner.

Atul Kochhar will be serving up his flavourful Chicken Malabar Curry & Naan served with a kachumber salad.
Paul Ainsworth brings his melt-in-your-mouth Slow Roast Pork with crackling, triple mustard celeriac remoulade and sage and onion stuffing to the party.
Chef Paul Ainsworth will be helping to create the menu for The Alfresco Diner on The Alfresco Theatre Drive-in Tour coming to the Hertfordshire Showground.
