Kelly Grove Racing is back on the top step of the Supercars Championship podium once again as Kiwi Andre Heimgartner took the team’s first win since 2018 at The Bend Motorsport Park, scoring his first ever Supercars victory in the process.
Coming off the back of taking pole in a wet qualifying session and a podium at the circuit in 2020, it was a strong drive for the Auckland-born pilot who overcame a five second penalty after a pit lane infringement to take a maiden main game victory.
Mostert was the quickest off the line, the Walkinshaw Andretti United driver beating pole-sitter Heimgartner to Turn 1 as Shane van Gisbergen gained three spots to get up to fifth behind the two Dick Johnson Racing cars of Anton de Pasquale and Will Davison. As Mostert led through the Turn 4 kink, he ran wide which allowed de Pasquale through to the lead though he went too deep into Turn 5, relinquishing first place to
Russell Ingall to make Bathurst return in Triple Eight wildcard

Former Supercars title winner Russell Ingall is to come out of retirement and return to the grid for the first time since 2016 in the Bathurst 1000 later this year.
Ingall, who won the title back in 2005 with Stone Brothers Racing, will share a Triple Eight-run Holden Commodore with teenager Broc Feeney in what will be his 26th start in Australia’s biggest race.
The 57-year-old has two wins to his name, having been victorious alongside Larry Perkins in both 1995 and 1997 – meaning both of his wins came before Feeney had even been born.

Chaz Mostert has finally broken through for his first win with Walkinshaw Andretti United after failing to record a victory throughout 2020, finally converting for the first time in the 2021 Supercars season.
Having started second on the grid next to former Tickford Racing team-mate Cam Waters, Mostert quickly took the lead and never looked back, securing the first win for the squad since Scott Pye won at the Australian Grand Prix support race back in 2018.
The win also breaks a streak of Triple Eight victories with Shane van Gisbergen winning the first six races of the year, followed by Jamie Whincup extending it to seven with a first place finish earlier today.
Jamie Whincup keeps up Triple Eight dominance, ends SVG streak with Race 7 win

Jamie Whincup has taken his first win of 2021 and 123rd in total with a strong display in the first of two Supercars Championship races today at Symmons Plains, ending the winning streak of Triple Eight team-mate Shane Van Gisbergen in the process.
Coming in to the race qualifying second on the grid, Whincup was able to harass pole-sitter Cam Waters throughout the race, getting a leg up on the Tickford Racing driver late in the 44 lap outing to take the race lead.
Leading home a one-two finish for Triple Eight, Whincup was able to extend his team’s dominance at the Tasmanian venue to 22 victories from the last 32 races, also making it eight wins in a row for the team which started at last year’s Bathurst 1000.
