Victoria ramps up contact tracing after positive case returns to Melbourne 23/12/2020|2min
Victorian contact tracers are ramping up their efforts to locate any coronavirus that may be lurking in the community after a 15-year-old girl returned a positive test several days after travelling back to Melbourne from Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The girl – who lives in the Moonee Valley region in Melbourne’s north-west – drove back to Victoria on Thursday, but did not present for testing until three days later.
She told contact tracers she had not been anywhere since returning home.
Despite affirming the girl had done the right thing, authorities ramped up their efforts and were verified phone data to make sure.
