TRC is seven today. The site, founded by former New York Racing Association President and CEO Charles Hayward with a brief to delve behind the scenes in Thoroughbred racing not only in North America but all around the world, began publishing on January 24, 2014, featuring a range of articles from Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
To mark our first seven years, I have picked out seven of the most visually impressive performances on the racetracks of the world in that time.
Bandersnatch too good in the Carrington Stakes Posted by: Mediality Racing+ at 7:58pm on 23/1/2021
Bandersnatch who joined the Hawkes yard at the start of his current campaign proved too good in the Listed Carrington Stakes at Randwick.
Bandersnatch who was previously trained by Gerald Ryan kicked off his campaign with a Moonee Valley win, he then followed that up with two minor placings.
Hawkes said the four-year-old’s record for them should read even better.
“He’s done a fantastic job. He’s had four runs and to be truthful, they probably should have been four wins,” Hawkes said.
“It (Carrington) wasn’t the strongest stakes race of all time but it’s here and it’s about putting horses in races where they’re suited.

JUSUFOVIC DREAMING OF LONG WEEKEND DOUBLE

Neighbourhood can figure in tonight’s Group 2
Australia Stakes at
Moonee Valley, despite the market suggesting otherwise.
Jusufovic described the race as a great chance to secure further black-type and believes that his galloper is over the odds at her current price.
He said that he has no concerns about drawing barrier 1 in a small field and is confident that the daughter of Street Boss will thrive in her first attempt at
The Valley.
“I’m hoping that she doesn’t get too far back and that we can get a run up on the fence,” Jusufovic told
Mystic Journey became the shortest priced favourite to be rolled at Mowbray for many years when she kicked off her All Star Mile campaign with a second placing at $1.10 in the Ladbrokes Stakes.

A six horse field for a Group 2 feature isn’t ideal for many but, when you’re chasing black type success for a future broodmare, it’s a great scenario.
Trainer Enver Jusufovic intended to aim Neighbourhood at the autumn but, when the nominations came up thin, he jumped at the chance to potentially pinch a placing in what is, in class, the strongest race of her career.
“I honestly thought the nominations would have been a lot stronger … There’s no Black Caviar or Scales of Justice in it so, I think she’ll be competitive,” Jusufovic said.
