Sutton retires from administrative post in Frenchtown
Rosemary Sutton, a familiar face at the Frenchtown Township Hall where she greeted visitors every day, has retired from her position as administrative assistant to the supervisor after 4 ½ years.
Sutton, who was born and raised in Monroe and lives in Monroe Township, worked her last day in March. Taking her place was Natalie (Zieske) Askar.
Sutton, 72, worked for both former Supervisor Jim McDevitt and current Supervisor Al VanWassehnova. She was known as the “trash Lady” because she often answered questions from callers about refuse and yard waste pickups in the township as well as upcoming elections. Since May of 2020, she also checked the temperature of all visitors to the hall as part of safety protocols the township launched to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
