Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir policeâs decision to pursue legal action against scribes and photographers who come close to gunbattle sites or near scenes of clashes between forces and protesters has created a flutter in the press fraternity in Kashmir, with media bodies terming the latest decree as a âtactic to coerce journalists into not reporting facts on the groundâ.

UP govt orders DMs, SSPs to ensure end of farmers agitations in state ANI | Updated: Jan 28, 2021 23:54 IST
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 28 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered all District Magistrates (DMs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to ensure the end of all the farmers agitations in the state, government officials said.
Earlier in the day, the Ghaziabad District Administration has ordered those who are holding the sit-in protest without permission at the Ghazipur border (Delhi-Ghaziabad border) to vacate the area by late evening today, official sources said.
Ghazipur is one of the sites where protests against the farm laws are going on for nearly two months.

Addressing the 62nd Senior Police Officers Conference 2020 of Odisha Police held in virtual mode, DGP said that priorities in policing were women and children victims and continuous assessment of police leadership.
During his address, he also emphasised on the topics like professional crime investigation, police accountability, prompt response to social media, capacity building for cyber crime investigation, adoption and integration of new technology for improving the delivery system, projection of good work of police, courtesy to subordinates staff and public, police welfare and women-friendly policing.
