Abedi, 23, who plotted the atrocity with his brother, is accused of causing actual bodily harm to the guard at top security HMP Belmarsh. Also charged with the attack are Parsons Green Tube train bomber Ahmed Hassan, 21, and Muhammed Saeed, 22. Abedi is also charged with assaulting a second guard in the same incident. They will appear at Bromley magistrates court on April 7.

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday announced another judgment in terror-financing cases against leaders of the banned Jamatud Daawa (JuD) and awarded 15 years jail term each to Prof Zafar Iqbal and Yahya Mujahid.
The court awarded six-month jail term to another accused Abdul Rehman Makki.
The court convicted the JuD leaders in a case, registered by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Multan, under sections 11-F(2), 11-N, 11-I, 11-J of the Anti-Terrorism Act. These sections relate to being a member of a banned outfit and supporting and arranging meetings of a proscribed organisation, illegal fundraising and buying properties from raised funds. The court also extended benefit of 382 CrPC to the convicts.

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday convicted three persons for leading an angry mob to besiege a gurdwara in Nankana Sahib following a disputed marriage of a Sikh girl with a Muslim boy last year.
Presiding Judge Ijaz Buttar handed down two-year imprisonment to Imran Chishti along with a fine of Rs10,000 while six-month each to Muhammad Salman and Muhammad Ahmad. The judge acquitted five other suspects for want of evidence.
