Uplift of merged districts top priority: minister

Peshawar January 13, 2021 KALAYA: Provincial Minister Muhammad Iqbal Wazir on Tuesday said that the destroyed homes in Orakzai tribal district would be resurveyed to properly compensate the affectees. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held in connection with the launching of Rescue 1122 Ghaljo branch in Upper Orakzai subdivision, the minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan were taking keen interest in the development of the merged tribal districts and rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) to facilitate them at their doorsteps. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Khalid, District Police Officer Nisar Ahmad Khan, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Jan Muhammad Afridi and others officials were also present on the occasion.

H-8 college gets new principal

Islamabad : Professor Dr Muhammad Khalid joined the Islamabad Model Postgraduate College (IMPC), H-8 as principal. The post had fallen vacant after the incumbent, Prof Qasim Masood, retired on Jan 1, 2021. Dr Muhammad Khalid previously worked as the principal at the Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB), F-10/4. Vice-principal of IMPC, H-8 Professor Atharul Islam has been appointed as the principal of IMCB, F-10/4. Talking to college staff, the new principal of the college said he will do his best to manage and facilitate in-college, online, or hybrid learning and would provide each and everything to improve the online learning programme during the college closure.

Three bodies found in different parts of city

Police believe that the deceased was an addict and died of a drug overdose Three bodies were found in different parts of the city on Tuesday. The two-day old body of a man, who had drowned to death, was found in water stream near Manzil Pump in Landhi. The deceased was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where the body was identified as Allah Rakha, 20. Meanwhile, the body of a man was found in Khamisu Goth and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till the filing of this report but the police suspect that the deceased died of a drug overdose.

3 more corona patients die in Faisalabad National December 27, 2020 FAISALABAD: Three more corona patients died on Saturday which raised the total death toll to 335 in the district since March this year. A spokesperson for the Health Department said that active cases in Faisalabad had reached 418 while 6,184 patients had so far recovered. He said that 87 corona tests were conducted in public and private sector laboratories of Faisalabad and out of them, six persons tested positive. Road projects: The Divisional Sugar Cane Development Cess Committee Saturday approved the construction, repair and rehabilitation of four roads in the whole division with Rs 60 million from cess funds.
