Two dead, four injured in road accident

HARIPUR: Two passengers were killed and four others injured when a van collided with a truck near Shah Maqsood, police said here on Wednesday.
Personnel of Sera-e-saleh Police Station quoted witnesses as saying that the van (1788) was on way to Abbottabad from Hasanabdal when it collided with a truck (0815) near Shah Maqsood village on GT Road, injuring six passengers critically.
The injured were removed to Trauma Centre Haripur where the doctors pronounced two of them dead. The deceased were identified as Muhammad Pervez and Haider Ali, residents of Abbottabad, while the four injured, Shahbaz, Rafaqat, Sardar Raza and Muhammad Arif, were referred to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad.
The petitioners have required construction licences for Ogra before taking final investment decisions (FIDs) on setting up of LNG terminals at designated sites as all other regulatory processes have already been completed. Reuters/File
ISLAMABAD: Participants at a public hearing overwhelmingly supported the cases of two separate firms for grant of construction licences at the earliest to help reduce energy costs and gas shortage that currently stood at about three billion cubic feet per day (BCFD).
The hearing presided over by Ogra Chairman Masroor Khan was attended by Member Gas Muhammad Arif, Member Oil Zainulabideen Qureshi and a number of large consumer groups like cement producers, CNG station operators, power companies and textile industry.
Blind murder case of woman solved

MANSEHRA: The police solved the blind murder case of a woman and arrested her husband, officials said on Tuesday.
“We have traced this complicated murder of a mother of three children and arrested her husband,” Asif Bahadur, the district police officer, told reporters here.
He said that the body of a woman was found on a roadside on Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road near Daman Sharif area last week, which was identified as Nadia Bibi by a family settled in Datta area and took it for burial from the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital’s mortuary.

Pro-Hindu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-run Gujarat state in western India has become the third state in the country to promulgate a bill that aims to curb religious conversions by force and fraudulent means.
The Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill 2021, passed on April 1, has a provision of imprisonment for 3-10 years and a maximum fine of 500,000 rupees (US$6,800) for violators.
