Imran Yaqoob Minhas appointed Karachi’s new police chief Karachi May 11, 2021 The Government of Sindh on Monday swapped the posts of the Karachi police and Special Branch chiefs, appointing Imran Yaqoob Minhas as Karachi Range Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IGP) and Ghulam Nabi Memon as Special Branch Addl IGP. A total of four officers have been transferred. A notification issued by Sindh Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah reads that Minhas, an officer of the Police Services of Pakistan (PSP) (BS-21), Special Branch Addl IGP, has been transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as Karachi Range Addl IGP in place of Memon, PSP (BS-21).

CM orders strict steps as Karachi’s District East reports 22pc positive cases National May 4, 2021 KARACHI: Covid-19 positivity has reached 22 per cent in District East of Karachi, followed by Hyderabad where the detection rate has soared to 19 per cent, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Monday, and directed the district administrations to take strict measures to implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in both the districts. Presiding over a meeting of the Covid-19 Task Force at the CM House, he observed that during the last seven days, the virus had hit new highs in Karachi East, where the detection rate had reached 22 per cent, Hyderabad 19 per cent, District South 13 per cent and District Central 10 per cent.

Top Story May 4, 2021 KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department has constituted a five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the murder case of slain journalist of Sukkur Ajay Lalwani. According to an official notification issued by Secretary Sindh Home Department, Dr Usman Chachar, following the directions of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Home Department constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) comprising five officers of Sindh Police, ISI, IB, Special Branch and Pakistan Rangers for the purpese of investigation of murder of journalist Ajay Lalwani, the murder case registered at the Police Statien Saleh Pat, District Sukkur.
