All six English clubs dramatically abandoned plans to join a European Super League today, imploding the breakaway project with Spanish and Italian counterparts within 48 hours of the announcement.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham deserted the plans for a largely-closed midweek competition amid an escalating backlash from their supporters and warnings from UK government that legislation could be introduced to thwart them.

Self-styled philanthropist Craig Koning is a rapist, a coward and an abusive manipulator who preyed on vulnerable women, a court heard today.
Koning was found guilty by majority verdict on two rape charges relating to an incident in 2004 when he was dating Amy Coronakes.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Commission for Minorities (NCM) has distanced itself from the SC’s one-man commission and expressed “complete disagreement” with the latter’s report that had recommended shifting the entire Islamic content from compulsory subjects like Urdu, English and General Knowledge to Islamiyat.
In a press release issued through the ministry of religious affairs, chairman of the NCM Chela Ram Kewlani said that the National Commission for Minorities does not agree with the content of the report presented by the one-man commission to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
He said that following a recent briefing by an education ministry official on the Single National Curriculum, the NCM had unanimously endorsed the curriculum and termed it historic. He said the creation of a Single National Curriculum is a welcome step of the present government.

NOWSHERA: Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak claimed on Monday that masses were joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) because of its people-friendly policies.
“The government faces no threat from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) opposition alliance as its leader are out to hide their corruption and ill-gotten wealth,” he said this in a meeting with ex-Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam activist Muhammad Waleed Akhtar here. The JUI activist quit his party and announced joining the PTI on this occasion. Former candidate for the by-election on PK-63 constituency Mian Umar Kakakhel was also present.

The opening of the Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa Rotorua Museum has been delayed to complete more site investigations.
It is expected to open in 2025.
The museum is in the Bath House building which will also be delayed.
The Bath House was initially expected to open next year, however, construction of the Bath House building is likely to start in 2022 with a build time of about two years.
