SPIN Ar Scoil, is an educational radio series - now in its tenth week – produced for Leaving Cert students. Each week the show explores a different Leaving Cert subject with the help of teachers, examiners, subject experts and special guests. On Saturday, the subject up for discussion was Home Economics. Rachel Allen spoke honestly and frankly about the Leaving Cert, her memories as a student and a parent. Reminiscing on her time in school Rachel joked “I loved school, because I loved my friends and we had great fun together, but not the exams and the study. I hated that!”

WATCH: Public health specialist explains who should attend pop-up Covid-19 test centre in Limerick Reporter:   ); A pop-up Covid-19 test centre will open in Limerick this Saturday as the HSE seeks to identify asymptomatic cases of the disease in the hope of preventing a resurgence of cases locally. The five-bay facility, at the grounds of St Joseph’s Health Campus, Mulgrave Street, will open between 11am and 7pm from today for six days. It will be operated by the National Ambulance Service and is open to members of the public who live close to or within walking distance of the testing centre.

BREAKING: Limerick motorway closed following multi-vehicle collision Reporter: );   ); A SECTION of the M7 motorway approaching Limerick has been closed following a serious road collision this Friday afternoon. The incident, which involved a number of vehicles, happened on the Limerick-bound carriageway near Junction 27 (Birdhill) shortly before 3.30pm. Emergency services, including gardai and paramedics from the National Ambulance Service, remain at the scene and the motorway is closed, Westbound, between Junction 27 and Junction 28 (Castletroy). Several units from Limerick Fire Station, Mulgrave Street attended the scene earlier and two units from Newport Fire Station remain in attendance. Motorists are being warned of significant delays and are being advised to use alternative routes.
