Christmas celebrations will be much smaller this year and so for many homes, the big dinner is being replaced by pickup or delivery from a restaurant. Itâs just easier with fewer mouths to feed but itâs also a great way to support Winnipegâs struggling eating establishments. Grocers like Munther Zeid at Food Fare say people have still been ordering a lot of turkeys and hams but they tend to be smaller, although there are still some bird birds being purchased as meals will be prepared and packed up in one home and sent out to family and friends elsewhere. If you are ordering in, a handful of restaurants that would be happy to cook you Christmas dinner include The Velvet Glove, Smith, Dennyâs, Joey, The Gates and Pony Corral. Whether youâre doing the cooking or not, I wish you safe and happy holidays.
