After years of being hounded on the textline and a brief and fiery campaign from brekky hosts Bryce and Ebony, triple j has finally done it: Australia’s most iconic band, The Wiggles, will make their Like A Version debut this Friday.
OG members Murray Cook (who’s more known for his guitar shredding chops these days) and Jeff will be coming back for the occasion, joining the current line-up of Anthony Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce and Emma Watkins. “Murray Wiggle, the rock god, he’s agreed. The OG’s coming together with the current Wiggles, and we’re going to create music history with a great song on Like a Version… We can’t wait,” Field told fans in a video announcement earlier this week.
Kevin Bartlett is a legend of the Richmond Football Club. He played for the Tigers between 1965-1983 winning 5 premierships in a 403 game career. He dominated the 1980 grand final kicking seven goals and winning the Norm Smith Medal. Following his decorated playing career he was appointed Richmond coach in 1988.
Bartlett s coaching career fell well short of his playing days. The Tigers never made finals under Bartlett. He was sacked as coach during his fourth season with a career record of 27 wins and 61 losses. Bartlett was a favorite son of the footy club. He d been part of the club for 27 years but after his sacking, he stayed away from the club for the next 16 years.

After three decades as the Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field has started thinking about retirement.
The founding member of The Wiggles, Field says he will hang the skivvy up sooner or later and has already considered who he might pass it on to. When I hang up the skivvy I d like to see someone from a different cultural background, Field said.
His pick is Evie Ferris, a dancer of Aboriginal descent with The Australian Ballet and a performer on The Wiggles latest song, We re All Fruit Salad!, which was released this week to mark the group s 30th anniversary.
I think the secret is just keeping it fun, he said. Thinking about what children enjoy and, you know, colourful, all the things we have always done, and hopefully writing songs that annoy the parents for a long time.

Anthony joined the group in 1979 alongside now-retired members Murray Cook, Greg Page and Jeff Fatt.
The trio were replaced by Yellow Wiggle Emma, Purple Wiggle Lachlan Gillespie and Red Wiggle Simon Pryce.
The band s anniversary comes after it was announced that Murray will be returning to the stage on January 23 after undergoing open-heart surgery in December.
