Floor Is Lava Season 2 Renewed by Netflix

Netflix is bringing back Floor Is Lava for a second season according to a new report by Variety. Host Rutledge Wood is returning as a host as adults find themselves deluged into orange goop. The classic children’s game proved to be a bit of a sensation on the streaming giant during the earlier days of the pandemic. Netflix reports that 37 million households tuned in to see who would be falling into the lava during the first four weeks of it’s run. The company also touts Love is Blind and Too Hot to Handle as other examples of unscripted programming having real success on their platform. Showrunner Anthony Carbone has to be thrilled about the announcement as they will try to up the ante in season 2. Also returning are executive producers Arthur Smith, Caroline Baumgard, Frank Sinton, and Anthony Storm for A. Smith & Co. productions. There’s no word yet on when these new episodes will hit the service.

The Wood: The Life and Times of Cockshutt Wood by John Lewis-Stempel (Black Swan, £9.99) Farmer John Lewis-Stempel managed Cockshutt Wood for four years. He coppiced the trees and raised the cows and pigs who roamed free within its three-and-a-half acres. 2021 NASCAR Season Preview Show Presented by Geico, co-hosted by NASCAR on NBC’s Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Rutledge Wood, premieres this Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on NBC. The hour-long special features appearances from star drivers and NASCAR on NBC commentators discussing the biggest storylines, predictions, and revamped race schedule for the upcoming 2021 season.
Highlights of the special includes the following interviews and features:
Bubba Wallace goes for a ride on a Harley-Davidson with Kyle Petty previewing his new team at 23XI Racing, his relationship with team co-owner Michael Jordan, and expectations for this year after a life-changing 2020;
Hosting the show will be actor Dax Shepard, comedian Rob Corddry, and noted automotive journalist Jethro Bovingdon.
Motor Trend says that the first episode will feature three very distinct supercars (without actually specifying what they are), and a segment on how to drift. In addition, the trio of presenters will look to “prove you can go overlanding for less money than some people spend on the wheel and tires packages on their rigs.”
A wide array of vehicles are also being promised for the show, including the most iconic of muscle cars and some of the fastest SUVs currently on sale. It all sounds rather fun but inevitably, the show will have to prove itself over its predecessors.
