DAUPHIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS hear plans for public transit merger

Updated: 2:10 PM EST Feb 17, 2021 Dauphin County commissioners on Wednesday heard about plans for a public transit merger.Capital Area Transit and rabbittransit want to join forces to become the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority.Richard Farr, executive director of rabbittransit, said the two systems have already been working closely together and the new system could offer features like a single-fare payment system. We believe through this joint venture that we ll be able to enhance transportation in the region, really promoting economic development, access to job opportunities, to health care opportunities. They’re the things we’re really trying to work on,” he said.

Donald (Don) C Albright | News, Sports, Jobs - Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Jan 8, 2021 Donald (Don) C. Albright, of Newport, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, after reaching the age 80 years old. After a battle with cancer, he died peacefully within his home, surrounded by loved ones. Don was born on July 20, 1940 in Mount Union, to Hazel and Charles Albright. After Hazel’s death, Charles married Mabel Hetrick, who raised Don. Don received a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg College. He later attended Temple University, where he received his master’s degree. Further, Don pursued and received a doctorate of education from Penn State University. Don began his career as an educator which led him into school administration as a vice principal at Curtain Middle School in Williamsport and later as a principal at West Perry School District in Perry County. During Don’s time as an educator, he also coached his school’s wrestling team, and the chess club.
