Controlled burn scheduled today at Pioneers Park

KLKN-TV April 15, 2021 9:01 am credit: City of LNK LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- Lincoln Parks and Recreation will be conducting a controlled burn today from noon to 3 p.m. at the Pioneers Park Nature Center on S. Coddington Avenue. The burn will span 12 acres north of the Prairie Building. You’re advised to avoid the area during the burn. According to Parks and Rec. staff, “Controlled burns are a tool to manage large areas of native plants and grasses. Land managers monitor weather and air quality conditions to ensure safe burns.”
