One will be for students from Brazil, Indiana, and another for students whose parents don’t have a college degree.  Bob and Lisa Jerry created the Roy M. and Dorothy R. Jerry Scholarship and the Jerry Family Scholarship as part of their estate plans. Bob Jerry had a 38-year career as a law school professor and dean. He received ISU’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1992.    “ISU is my family’s university,” Bob Jerry said. “Most of my relatives who attended college graduated there, and my parents and a great-aunt were faculty. But more than that, Lisa and I believe it is very important to lend a hand to young people who can’t afford to attend college or who are denied opportunities because of barriers society throws at them. Two at large staffers appointed by GM annually Nominees require 5 of 7 votes for election to the WGLT Hall of Fame. Election Process Nominations may be made by any current WGLT full or part-time staff member or Friends Council member, while committee members should endeavor to nominate at least two people annually. Nominations will be accepted annually during July and August each year, with vote/selection to be made in September. Honorees will be announced in October (pegged to Illinois State s Homecoming week) and will be acknowledged at the Radio Faces dinner and in the WGLT annual report, and will be recognized in a permanent physical display at WGLT and WGLT.org.

College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences honors distinguished alumni and Hall of Fame inductees

East Tennessee State University’s College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences recently announced its 2020 Distinguished Alumni and Hall of Fame Inductees. Typically, honorees are announced in the fall. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic last fall, the 2020 honorees will be recognized along with the 2021 honorees to be announced later this fall. The two recipients of the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award from the CCRHS are: • Kim Garland — Garland received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and criminology from ETSU in 1998, and then returned to ETSU, where she earned a Master of Social Work degree in 2013. She currently serves as Child Protective Services director with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. Among her many accomplishments throughout her career, Garland has piloted the Drug Exposed Infant Team; developed the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Minors policy and workgroups in East Tennessee; served as a member of a Ba
