Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn said Sunday that Mexican cartels are making huge profits from human smuggling during the current border crisis.
“What people need to understand is these are criminal organizations,” Cornyn told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” adding that “they trade in things that make them money, whether it’s trafficking and sex, women and children for sex, whether it’s drugs, illegal drugs … which killed 70,000 Americans just in the last couple of years on an annual basis.”

“These criminal organizations have networks all around the world and it’s just a matter of price. If you want to come from Mexico, it’s one price, about three to $4,000,” the senator said.
Former Acting CDC Director Dr. Richard Besser joins Andrea Mitchell to talk about the risks of reopening too quickly and how we can contain the virus to reestablish a sense of normalcy this year. "We've seen over the course of the past year, downward trends quickly reverse if states rush to remove the public health restrictions, the restrictions that have been shown to save lives, that we still could lose thousands of people," he said.

Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan said Saturday that border detention centers have been turned into “welcoming centers” through President Joe Biden’s open border polices accepting illegal immigrants.
“They are changing these detention centers to what they call ‘reception centers, ” Homan said on “Fox & Friends” Saturday.
WATCH:
“They are actually welcoming centers because they get them in there quickly, they don’t test them, they release them and when they release them, they release them on an NTA, Notice to Appear … which means as they get to their destination they qualify for work authorization,” Homan continued. “So not only are they pushing back against our public health crisis by having COVID being released, they are competing for the same scarce jobs that many Americans are competing for right now with the unemployment crisis.”
Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan argues the administration’s policies are ‘offering more and more enticements’ for illegal immigrants to come to the U.S.
