Sandra McGovern MUNISING Munising Memorial Hospital has announced it has a new chief executive officer and chief financial officer. Sandra McGovern, doctor of nursing practice, was hired as the hospital’s CEO in December, while Kevin Carlson was hired as CFO in November 2019. “Kevin Carlson came to our facility with a wide range of accounting experience. He has been an excellent asset to our administrative team. Sandy McGovern recently joined our administrative team and has provided excellent guidance and leadership for our facility as well,” Munising Memorial Hospital Board President Marilyn Beverley said in a news release. “We are excited to have both Kevin and Sandy in these leadership positions and are looking forward to a great future for Munising Memorial Hospital.”

Teen dies following snowmobile crash in U.P. over the weekend Updated Feb 23, 2021; Facebook Share AUTRAIN TOWNSHIP, MI A 16-year-old Alma boy has died following a snowmobile crash over the weekend. According to WLUC 6, the boy was injured in the crash which took place around 6:16 p.m. Saturday on snowmobile trail #7 in Alger County. The teen has been identified as Thomas Timothy Watson, according to police. After the boy was transported to the Munising Memorial Hospital he eventually succumbed to his injuries. The Alger County Sheriff’s Office says Watson failed to make a curve in the trail, causing him to leave the path and drive into several trees.

AUTRAIN, MI     A downstate teen has died in a snowmobile accident in AuTrain. Saturday around 6:15 p.m. Alger County Dispatch received several calls reporting a snowmobile accident on Trail #7. The Alger County Sheriff’s Office, Alger EMS, Rescue 21, the DNR and Guardian Flight responded. Investigation determined the driver, 16-year-old Thomas Watson of Alma, failed to negotiate a curve and struck several trees. Watson was taken to Munising Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Tags:

MUNISING A downstate teenager was pronounced dead after a snowmobile crash in Alger County on Saturday. Alger County Dispatch received several reports around 6:16 p.m. of a snowmobile accident on Trail No. 7 in Au Train Township. The investigation concluded that a 16-year-old male, identified as Thomas Timothy Watson from downstate Alma, failed to negotiate a curve and struck several trees, according to a news release from the Alger County Sheriff’s Office. Watson was transported from the scene to Munising Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said. Assisting at the scene were Alger County EMS, Rescue 21, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Guardian Flight.

Operations at Neenah Munising mill disrupted when discharge line fails | News, Sports, Jobs

Feb 19, 2021 MUNISING The Neenah Munising Mill experienced a disruption to normal operations on at 8 a.m. Friday when a discharge line from a bleach bulk storage tank failed, causing a release of 2,000 gallons of liquid bleach within the facility, the company announced. The mill quickly activated the emergency response plan to contain the immediate risk to employees, the environment and the community. This plan activated additional resources from the community including the Munising Fire Department, Rock River Fire Department, Alger County Sheriff’s Office and Alger County EMS. The discharge was contained within the facility, according to Neenah, which does not anticipate any discharge to the environment.
