Her choice for Dementia UK was in memory of her Great Grandmothers Doris Tanner and Irene Bray who have both sadly passed away. Her parents, Nigel & Georgina Hodges and Justin & Gemma Bray said: We can not express how proud we all are of Maisie. Maisie loves animals and has always focused her fundraising on this, but when she heard about the time for tea fundraiser in aid of Dementia UK that really hit home. We would like to say a massive thanks to Bexs Baking for the donation of brownies, Charmaine West for the cake donations, and all her family and friends who turned up despite the wind and rain to support her.

Staff and residents at Barley View care home Whitworth are aiming to rack up a whopping one million steps in May to help raise money for Dementia UK. The fundraising group looks set to surpass their initial £250 fundraising target. and is being organised by activities co-ordinator Gemma Howarth. The purpose-built care home, opened in 2019, benefits from its own dedicated dementia community providing specialist support for residents living with the condition. Alongside their impressive steps target, the team at Barley View are also planning to hold a Whitworth community cake sale once COVID-19 restrictions permit. In the meantime, Gemma will be hosting a small cake sale for staff and residents at the care home.
RESIDENTS and staff at care homes across Dorset have been making Time for a Cuppa as part of an annual fundraising drive. Colten Care homes have been putting the kettles on to raise money for Dementia UK s biggest annual fundraising drive, Time for a Cuppa, which helps families affected by the disease. The care home chain, with 21 homes across the South West, held tea parties for all its residents. At Castle View in Dorchester, the party was a hit with residents, including Eileen Weller. She said: The scones were scrummy and I was over the moon with the wonderful party and music.

Staff and residents at Barley View care home in Whitworth are aiming to rack up a massive 1 million steps throughout May to help raise money for Dementia UK.
Organised by Gemma Howarth, activities coordinator at Barley View, the fundraiser looks set to surpass its initial £250 target, with 100% of donations going to support the work of Dementia UK.
The purpose-built care home, which opened in 2019, benefits from its own dedicated dementia community providing specialist support for residents living with the condition -providing residential and respite care as well as specialist provision.
