The All-Conference selections were paced by a pair of First Team selections in offensive lineman Dohnovan West and punter Michael Turk. For Turk, it was the second-consecutive season in which he has earned a First Team nod, one of only three players in the conference to accomplish the feat.
West was a dominant force along the Sun Devil offensive line, paving the way for a stellar ground game. Arizona State finished the year with a 375-yard performance on the ground against Oregon State and averaged 264 yards per game, the highest average in a season since 1981.
Arizona natives defensive back Chase Lucas and defensive lineman Tyler Johnson were named to the league s Second Team defense, while freshman D.J. Taylor earned a spot on the Second Team as a return specialist.

Charlotte, N.C. Three North Carolina high school football players have signed their National Letter of Intent to attend and play football for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Tyson Clawson of Independence High School in Charlotte, Isaiah Potts of Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, and Chavion Smith of Statesville High School all signed with the 49ers during National Signing Day yesterday.
Clawson, a defensive end, stands at 6 feet tall and weighs 209 pounds. He is a 3-star prospect according to ESPN and the 247Sports Composite. A two-year varsity player heading into the spring high school season, Clawson has achieved an impressive 135 career tackles (85 as a junior), 34 tackles for a loss (18.0 as a junior), 23.5 sacks over last two years (13.5 as a sophomore; 10.0 as a junior), two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, and an interception. Reed Named First Team All-MW, Shook Second Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Jerrick Reed II, who led the Mountain West in interceptions and interceptions per game, was named First Team All-Mountain West at safety, becoming the first non-specialist for UNM to be named First Team All-Conference since 2014. Reed was joined by linebacker Brandon Shook, who was named Second Team All-Conference.
Reed’s honor was the first time that a non-specialist earned first team honors since the 2014 season when both Dakota Cox (linebacker) and LaMar Bratton (offensive line) were named to the team. Corey Bojorquez, a punter who is now with the Buffalo Bills, was named First Team All-Mountain West in 2017.

Offensive Player of the Year: QB Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati
At one point in danger of getting benched, Ridder took his game to a new level. The junior quarterback threw for 1,821 yards and 16 touchdowns, and also rushed for 526 yards (7.9 yards per carry) and 11 touchdowns to lead the Bearcats offense.
