Florida Man Fights Alligator To Rescue Pet Dog From Its Jaws

A Florida man saved his pet dog from being an alligator s next meal by diving into water and wrestling his pooch free from the beast.
Mike McCoy had been walking his 8-month-old chocolate Labrador Jake near Paul R. Middle School, in Holiday, on Tuesday, when the attack happened.
While walking near a pond, McCoy said a gator launched itself out of the water and dragged Jake back down under the surface.

A Florida man recently went to extreme lengths to protect his eight-month-old pup.
This past Tuesday, WFTS Tampa Bay reports, Mike McCoy was walking his chocolate lab, Jake, near a pond in the Tampa suburb of Holiday, Florida. However, the pleasant stroll took a dark turn when an alligator reportedly appeared from the water and took Jake down with it. He was in the death roll with that old gator, recounted McCoy.
McCoy didn t hesitate to intervene and jumped right in to save his companion. I previously read up on my environment and gators. I got around, thumbed him the eye, picked him out of the water so he couldn t get anywhere until he let the dog go, McCoy told WFTS. And in the interim he decided, I don t have him, I ll bite you.
State Reports Show that 226 Alligators Have Been Removed from Disney Property Since 2016

In 2016, a two-year-old boy was tragically killed by an alligator at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. In the years since the accident, 226 alligators have reportedly been removed from Disney property.
Disney s Orlando property is built on and around marshes and other large bodies of water. As such, alligators are drawn to the park. But Disney isn t the only area in Florida with a gator problem.
In fact, with a statewide gator population totaling over one million, many residents up and down the state have frequent run-ins with the scaly reptile. To keep people safe, a statewide program was created to allow trappers to remove potentially harmful alligators from designated areas.

In a horrific incident, an 8-year-old boy in Malaysia was swallowed by a crocodile as he swam in a river in Indonesia.
The child went to the river on the island of Borneo along with his younger brother. A local search and rescue agency official, identified as Oktavianto, said the children s father was nearby when the attack took place Wednesday, according to 7News. The boy s father jumped to rescue his child when he saw the crocodile, but it escaped.
“He chased the crocodile and hit it with bare hands but he couldn’t keep up,” Oktavianto said.
