Hideki Yamagishi
FWD Fuji Life Insurance (FWD Japan) has appointed Hideki Yamagishi as representative director, president and chief executive, effective January 12.
Norio Tomono will step down as CEO and become FWD s country manager for Japan while still acting as representative director. The country manager role is a newly created one, a company spokeswoman said.
Yamagishi joins FWD from NFC Holdings, a Tokyo-based insurance brokerage, where he was most recently CEO for Japan. He will now report to Huynh Thanh Phong, FWD Group CEO.

A contentious parliamentary probe into banks and insurers black-listing fossil fuel projects could be widened to take in other export sectors after several Coalition MPs went into damage control over the proposal.
Nationals MP George Christensen, a leading climate sceptic within the Coalition, wanted the committee he chairs to establish an inquiry which would grill financial regulators and the big banks over their strategy to pull back on lending or insuring new coal mines or power stations because of the climate risk.
