EARLIER @ 1.00 PM | AN EMERGENCY alert has been issued for residents in Currumbin and Tallebudgera, as the weather bureau forecasts heavy thunderstorms and intense rainfall throughout this afternoon.
Residents across the southern Gold Coast are receiving texts, advising them to ‘watch and act’ the situation very closely.

An emergency assembly point has been stood up at the Reedy Creek Waste and Recycling Centre located at 61 Hutchinson Street, Burleigh Heads.
However, council is urging residents to seek shelter with family and friends where possible, and only go to the assembly point if necessary.
