A West Donegal Councillor is seeking an urgent meeting with the Minister with responsibility for the islands, Heather Humphreys to discuss the deterioration of infrastructure on Donegal s islands. Some island roads are said to be in such a state that it is impacting response times of emergency services. As it stands, work cannot be carried out on non-county roads until they are taken over by Donegal County Council. Formal application to demolish The Golden Grill submitted to DCC - Highland Radio

A formal application to demolish iconic Letterkenny nightclub, The Golden Grill has been lodged with Donegal County Council. Planning permission to demolish the premises and erect temporary security hoardings has been submitted to the Council in the name of John Barry. The iconic nightclub in the heart of Letterkenny was first opened by Bernard McGlinchey in 1961, and attracted thousands of patrons throughout the decades that followed.

  A West Donegal County Councillor has expressed disappointment after Donegal County Council refused to add additional services to bring banks across the county to allow for the recycling of paper and plastic. Councillor Micheal Cholm MacGiolla Easbuig brought the motion before the yesterday s sitting of Donegal County Council.
