Mujahid pays farewell call on Gen Nadeem

RAWALPINDI: Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, chief of air staff (CAS), paid a farewell call on General Nadeem Raza, chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at the Joint Staff Headquarters here on Wednesday.
The chairman JCSC thanked the CAS for his services to the nation during a long and illustrious career. Mujahid will retire on March 18.

He also said that Pakistan and Turkey are two countries, but they are one nation.
According to an official statement released by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), the Air Chief was addressing a meeting comprising board members of the Association of Justice Defenders and Strategic Studies Center (ASSAM) in Turkey.
The Air Chief said that Pakistan fully supports Turkey on Cyprus and other regional issues and also stands by Ankara in its war against terrorism.

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday announced another judgment in terror-financing cases against leaders of the banned Jamatud Daawa (JuD) and awarded 15 years jail term each to Prof Zafar Iqbal and Yahya Mujahid.
The court awarded six-month jail term to another accused Abdul Rehman Makki.
The court convicted the JuD leaders in a case, registered by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Multan, under sections 11-F(2), 11-N, 11-I, 11-J of the Anti-Terrorism Act. These sections relate to being a member of a banned outfit and supporting and arranging meetings of a proscribed organisation, illegal fundraising and buying properties from raised funds. The court also extended benefit of 382 CrPC to the convicts.
