Peel police say a person has died after being struck by a train in Brampton on Wednesday evening, just before 5:30 p.m.
GO Transit says trains would not be moving through the area at Main and Queen Street for two hours.
Service has since resumed.

Dixie Road has been shut down in both directions from Burnhamthorphe East to Winding Trail, with drivers asked to use alternate routes.

A man is in critical condition following a two-vehicle collision in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police say.
Police earlier said the man had died but later issued a correction indicating he had lost vital signs and was revived.

One man is in critical condition after a two-vehicle collision in Mississauga.
First responders were called to the scene shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a crash near Dixie Road and Winding Trail.
Police initially reported a male victim had succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash but are now saying the man lost vital signs and was brought to a hospital, where he was later revived.
He is now in critical condition, officers say.
The Major Collision Bureau has now taken over the investigation.

Emergency crews were called to Erin Centre Boulevard near Glen Erin Drive shortly before 9 p.m. Acting Insp. David De Angelis said a vehicle was travelling east on Erin Centre when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a light pole. When officers arrived, the female driver was pronounced dead on the scene, while the male passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Peel police’s Major Collision Bureau is investigating the cause of the crash.
