UPDATED: Fairfax County police identify man shot by officers in Falls Church

Police have identified a 61-year-old Falls Church area man accused of shooting a teenage boy in the face before being shot by officers on Thursday. Glenn Allen Myer was released from the hospital earlier today and was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, Fairfax County police said in a news release. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond. The incident began with a 911 call at 10:49 a.m. in the 2000 block of Peach Orchard Drive. A teenager told dispatchers he had been shot in the face by a man who lives in the apartment, police. The teenager sought shelter from the armed assailant in a bedroom and told the police dispatcher that the man was actively trying to break into the room.

Public Safety Tonight Updated: April 4, 2021 @ 11:15 am Just after 4:30 a.m. Dec. 13 a Fairfax County Police officers found a car that was stopped in the roadway in the 5800 block of Backlick Road in Springfield. The officer turned on his emergency lights to check on the driver. As the officer got back into his car, a suspected drunk driver rear-ended him, causing his cruiser to hit the car in front of him. The officer and the suspected drunk driver were treated for injuries that were not life threatening. The suspected drunk driver was arrested. Everyone wants to get home safely. If youâre considering celebrating the holidays with alcohol, please remember to arrange for a sober ride home. You just might save a life.

3 Assaults In Herndon Area May Be Linked: Police

(Fairfax County Police Department) HERNDON, VA Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau of the Fairfax County Police Department are investigating a series of assaults that have occurred over the past two weeks in the in Reston and Fair Oaks Police Districts, according to a police release. Detectives are examining similarities in the cases to see if the they are linked to each other. Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect or suspects in these cases. FCPD described the suspect as a light-skinned Black or Hispanic man, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall, in his early 20s or 30s.
