Indian Railways has approved the proposal of Maharashtra Principal Secretary to transport liquid medical oxygen in cryogenic tankers via its roll-on-roll-off initiative throughout the country.
The national transporter revealed that five hours of free time will be allotted at the point of loading and unloading whereas the customers will have to be in-charge of securing trucks through locks or lashing.
Moreover, the Ministry of Railways mentioned that the rules rolled out in Red Tariff No. 20 for the purpose of moving liquid oxygen will have to be adhered to.
The consignors will have to carry out the required precautionary measures for safely transporting liquid oxygen. Additionally, only two members including the concerned driver will be permitted in every truck and they would have to buy an ordinary second class ticket for the journey,
