JAMMU: Police on Sunday claimed to have foiled a terror plot to attack temples in the border district of Poonch with the arrest of three Pakistan-linked terrorists, besides recovering six grenades from them. The trio is said to be affiliated to J&K Ghaznavi Force, a newly floated terror outfit.
Two foreign terrorists of the outfit were slain in an encounter in Poonch’s Dogrian on December 20.
“Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of Army’s 49RR, J&K Police’s special operations group and Poonch Police set up a checkpoint at Basooni late Saturday and intercepted a vehicle driven by Mustafa Khan, a terror suspect, who was questioned for his suspicious movement. The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Asian to 3 years in jail to be followed by deportation after being convicted of forging his identity papers to marry a girl, have a child with her and separate from her.
The wife discovered that his name was different from that stated in his identity papers after he used to procrastinate over taking out identification papers for their nine-year-old son.
According to her testimony, the victim met the convict 13 years ago, specifically in 2007, when he proposed to her in front of her family.
After agreeing on marriage, they hand their marriage contract concluded in Dubai Courts where the convict presented a health card, which was later found to be fake, the victim added.

SRINAGAR: Raising the banner of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) throughout Jammu and Kashmir, the Gupkar Declaration signatories failed to find friendly ground in central Kashmir’s Budgam district for the District Development Council elections.
With alliance not materializing in Budgam, the PAGD fought each other employing every tool in the box.
However, on Tuesday, the National Conference (NC) emerged as the major winner in the district by winning eight seats out of total of 14 seats.
The Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) lost on two important segments from their bastion of Khansahib while the Peoples Democratic Party officially won only one seat in the district.
