Thursday marked the first day on the job for Maryland’s new state school Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury.Choudhury may be still learning his way around the building, but he s already done his homework when it comes to the history of Maryland’s education system, specifically, the Blueprint for Maryland s Future the state s newly enacted education law. So for me, and I said it on day one when I accepted the job, I am going to say it right now the blueprint will serve as a guide for MSDE to continue to build off the great work that s already been done but also to introduce new initiatives, Choudhury said.The superintendent said the setbacks school systems faced during COVID-19 will help create new opportunities for students returning to full time, in-person learning this fall.
