Hamed bin Zayed inaugurates NAVDEX 2021 Video Image
ABU DHABI, 21st February, 2021 (WAM) H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council, inaugurated the sixth edition of the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2021, which is being held at the marine dock opposite the main platform of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), as part of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2021.
During the inauguration, Sheikh Hamed toured the event, including the pavilions of participating national and international companies participating, and talked to exhibitors about the latest technologies and units showcased at the event.
IDEX, Navdex shows open in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI, February 21, 2021 The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (Navdex) opened in Abu Dhabi on Sunday with the participation of more than 900 companies. This year s events have also attracted the participation of five new countries - Israel, Luxembourg, Portugal, Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, said a Wam news agency report. The events are being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and will run until February 25 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. On behalf of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, inaugurated the IDEX.

WAM The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) is donating AED 1 million to the UN Children s Fund to treat neonatal congenital anomalies in Afghanistan.
The proceeds are from the Ataya charity exhibition.
The show was organised by the ERC to raise funds and spread awareness about the development of underprivileged communities.
Congenital anomalies are a leading cause of death among children under the age of five in Afghanistan.
Fahad Abdurrahman bin Sultan, ERC Deputy Secretary-General for Development and International Cooperation, and the UNICEF Representative in the Gulf Area, Eltayeb Adam, signed an agreement via video conference to donate the funds.
Commenting on the development, Dr Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the ERC, underlined the importance of the agreements and partnerships the UAE s humanitarian arm signs with international organisations.
