SIBU; Sarawak recorded 62 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Jan 17), says the state Disaster Management Committee. The committee said Sibu recorded the most cases with 43, followed by Miri (six), Kuching (three), Julau, Meradong and Beluru with two cases each while Dalat, Bintulu, Kapit and Belaga with one each. There is one death reported. The patient was a 42-year-old local man at Miri Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital unconscious on Jan 13 and passed away the next day. A swab test conducted on Jan 14 came back positive with Covid-19, said the committee. The number of Covid-19 deaths in the state stands at 19.
